Cooking With Cider

It’s finally summertime which means it’s grill season!

Here at Citizen Cider we love cooking up unique dishes infused with our delicious ciders so we thought we’d help you plan dinner tonight. If you’re looking for the perfect side dish to enhance your backyard bbq dinner, than look no further because tonight we’re making:

Unified PRess Street Corn

Impress your friends and family with this delicious yet simple side dish.

4-6 EARS OF CORN (these can be served whole or cut into halves)

1 16oz can of Unified Press

Chipotle Aioli (made from scratch or store bought)

Crumbled or grated cotija cheese (If you’re having trouble finding cotija, you could always use feta – which has a similar texture and saltiness, or grated parmesan.)

Spices: paprika, chili powder, pepper and cayenne pepper.

First things first, crack a cider to sip on while grilling.

Make a Unified Press reduction: add 1 16oz can of Unified Press & 2 tablespoons of honey to a small sauce pan. Cook on medium heat and bring to a low boil until desired level of reduction (the bubbles will get smaller & the boil will look somewhat “foamy”) Make sure to stir periodically.

Grill corn on med-high, turning often, until slightly charred all over – about 10 minutes.

Mix together spices (1 tablespoon paprika, 1 tablespoon chili powder, 1 teaspoon pepper & 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper)

Use a basting brush to glaze corn with Unified Press reduction, spread chipotle aioli onto corn, add the spice mix & cheese to your liking and enjoy!

We’re all looking for new dinner ideas during these crazy times, so we hope this recipe brings something special to your next backyard bbq!
